A little bit about me...
I was born in the Netherlands and 24 years ago moved to Kirkcaldy (Fife) in Scotland. As a child I also spent quite a bit of time in Canada, therefore my accent is a bit all over the place!
As long as I can remember I have been drawing pictures. I studied at the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (the Netherlands), where I got my Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design. Soon after I got my degree I moved to Scotland (in fact only 4 days later).
I started working as a graphic designer, but because I still wanted to have a creative outlet and not just sit behind a computer screen I joined Kirkcaldy Art Club. After doing various painting classes I thought I would try pottery, just to see if I would like it. I am now the pottery technician at Kirkcaldy Art Club. In 2020 my garden studio was completed. This is where I create my work. Ceramics has completely taken over my life (in a good way).
I enjoy making people smile with the creatures and animals that I make. Most of my work is Raku fired. You can read more how I Raku fire here. Throughout the year I try and attend many markets and events. Keep an eye on my diary to see where I will be next.
You will find my work in my online shop. If you have any questions or comments, please get in touch.
